I began my blogging journey one sunny Tuesday afternoon a few months ago when a friend of mine asked me if I could build him a website using WordPress. I have to admit I panicked. I’ve never written a blog before never mind designed and set-up a WordPress blog from scratch. I was more than a little apprehensive to say the least. But I love the challenge of learning something new so I’ve jumped in with both feet.
What I’ve learned to date, and am still learning on a daily basis, has revolutionized the way I do things – blogging is a fascinating subject and imagine my surprise when I found out you can apparently make money at it too – there are actually people who make six figure sums from their blogs! This is what really captured my imagination, the ability to make money from my blog. I can sit at home in my pajamas and make money… well we’ll see won’t we!
If you’re reading this and thinking you’d like to start a blog read on. I found the whole subject mind-blowingly large and had a hard time deciding where to start and what information I even needed. But, this is not a blog about the techniques of blogging (there are already many specialist blogs out there crammed full of this kind of information the most useful of which I will provide links to) this is a blog to chart my own journey into blogging starting at the very beginning with a absolutely zero knowledge. As you can see I’ve managed to get this far! I’ll tell you exactly how I got started, what books I’m reading, what blogs I read and where to find valuable information to help you along. A kind of one-stop-shop for beginner bloggers. And I’ll let you know if and how I make any money along the way!
